Be the 1 and Advocate TODAY.
United Way of Olmsted County sent an email today about Advocating to protect Charitable Giving Through Deduction via
taxes. Not sure what that means? (see the bold sentence below)
Look. We can't let this happen. We need to have organizations, like the United Way of Olmsted County fully accessible for donors to give as much as they would like in this capacity so we can help people in the community and beyond. <3The Congressional "super committee" charged with reducing the federal deficit will be considering whether or not to raise revenue by changing the federal tax code. Limiting the deduction for charitable donations is on the table. The Administration is proposing capping the deduction to pay for a jobs stimulus package.
The ability of donors to deduct contributions to charity from their taxes is a cornerstone of the success of America's charitable tradition.
One of United Way Of Olmsted County's top public policy priorities is to preserve the deduction so we can continue to fund and provide services for families and individuals in need.
They've made it easy for us to advocate - only 1 minute tops!
